Grace Chapel, Lexington, MA

Teen worship room. Flexible seating with stage and A/V area @ rear.

Gymnasium on second floor. Breakout rooms off the gymnasium. Sound-dampening floor tiles throughout.

Breakout area adjacent to Teen worship room. Tile floor, tons of natural light. Probably the best space in the building from a location and natural light standpoint.

An inside view of a satellite check-in station.

A toddler restroom. According to Barry, the incorrect child-sized fixtures were ordered for these bathrooms. They are making due with stepstools.

The Clubhouse - Set up for preteens for theater and performance. This space was supposed to get a dark ceiling without tiles, but they mixed-up the room functions during construction.

Some flexible partitions in the kids church area downstairs. You can also see some movable space partitions in the background.

Another view of the Clubhouse.

Kids church area dedicated to 3 - 5 year olds. According to Barry, the space was TOO big for their needs, so they have defined separate spaces with bookcases and whatever else they could find in their existing supply of furniture.

A temporary (?) solution to the problem of cords hanging out in the "public" zone.

One of the crawlers and pre-walkers areas downstairs.

This is the "Dock" which the contractor made out of 2 x 8's and fence posts to simulate an elevated dock. The tile flooring is blue to simulate water. It does make for a nice meeting area for the large dowstairs kids area . . . "I'll meet you at the dock after the service".

This is one problem they did not forsee. The backs of computers facing the public with a jangle of cords left exposed. A visual eyesore and a big potential problem if little ones start pulling on the cords.

This is what you see when you come to drop off your child at the Children's Ministry downstairs.

This is kind of a subway car that kids can climb up into.

Grace commissioned an illustrator to design several murals which will be painted in various areas of the downstairs Children's Ministry areas. This is the first of those murals. Barry indicated that he would like to commission several more to jazz up the downstairs.
